Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County, and the heroic first responders putting their lives on the line to contain them. While the full extent of damage will only be known in the coming days and weeks, we are working to respond to immediate needs by providing resources to our employees, and providing additional and ongoing customer service to our customers and clients in the area.
To support relief and recovery efforts, the firm provided a total of $2 million in philanthropic support to American Red Cross, California Community Foundation, and United Way of Greater Los Angeles to help meet the critical needs of those most impacted by the wildfires. JPMorganChase will also match employee donations dollar-for-dollar to select organizations to maximize our collective impact.
To support customers and clients, the firm is providing assistance which includes (but not limited to) refunding a variety of fees in disaster-declared area, offering mortgage assistance in line with federal guidelines, and creating proactive communications for our customers whose branches have suffered severe damage.
